Rabah Saâdane: “Our setback is mainly due to the referee”
Rabah Saâdane
Algeria team coach Rabah Saadane declared after the Algeria-Egypt semi-final fixture played Thursday night in Benguela that the 4-nil defeat sustained by the Algerian national squad was essentially due to poor refereeing which completely skewed this decisive match, as he put it.
-
Saadane hit out against the incomprehensible and mind-boggling attitude of the Benin referee throughout the Benguela match.
-
The Algeria team coach said that the referee’s untoward and unfair decisions had clearly put the Algerian squad at a disadvantage and contented by the same token the Egyptian players who profited from his blatant leniency towards them.
-
Saadane added that his disadvantaged players lost their cool at the referee’s glaring partiality towards the Egyptians who played at will.
-
“Our players made some mistakes notably in defense because they had been unjustly penalized by the referee”, he hammered in a statement to the press in Benguela.
