Raffarin to pay second visit to Algeria on February 20th

Former French Prime Minister Jean Pierre Raffarin is expected to pay a two-day visit to Algeria on February 20th.

  This visit comes as part of his mission assigned by President Sarkozy to boost and reactivate economic relationships between his country and Algeria. The first step was conducted on November 24^th, 2010. It was meant to enable French companies to take part of big projects scheduled in the five-year-program. The State allocated a $286 billion-budget to this program.

  Earlier, Algerian ambassador to France Missoum Sebih held talks with Raffarin as part of this mission. The French prime minister renewed his trust in new and important developments which must be achieved by Algeria and France. On his last visit to Algeria, he held talks with senior officials about obstacles they find against economic exchanges developments between the two countries. He believed that those developments should be achieved in order to gather all the necessary conditions for the success of the projects. 
  

  Among those projects, Jean Pierre Raffarin mentioned training and small and middle-sized companies, vocational training, competences transfer, transport, energies and mines, food industry, chemistry, insurances and their repercussions in terms of qualified jobs.
  

  “I am ready to offer my contribution to all the projects by time. Every partnership needs time to continue mutual respect. After this first contact, I know that deals signature exists,” he said. 
  

  He added that Algeria and France talked about all the issues, one by one, with the will to make progress as part of Algerian sovereignty. “We have reached an agreement about 12 issues. The half of them is in the process of finishing.
