Rafik Halliche in Britain to sign for Fulham club

The Algeria international, Rafik Halliche, left yesterday Algiers for Great Britain with the aim of signing a deal with the English premier – league football club of Fulham.

Prior to the signing of the transfer deal, Halliche was subjected to a thorough medical check – up on the spot.

Halliche had earlier left the Greens’ preparatory training camp in Algiers ahead of Wednesday’s friendly match versus Gabon at the 5th of July Olympic stadium after securing a visa from the UK Embassy in Algiers.

He had also received the green light to fly to Britain and to sign for the English Fulham outfit from the general manager of his Portuguese club of Benfica of Lisbon.

Informed sources say that Halliche’s transfer deal from Benfica to Fulham is estimated at one million Euros and is to cover a 2 year renewable period.

Before joining Benfica of Lisbon, the talented Algerian defender had played for two years with the Portuguese club of Madère.
