Rais Meboulhi to Echorouk: “The U.S. attacks do not scare me”

Algeria’s World Cup team new goalkeeper wahab Rais Meboulhi said he did not care about Rooney or Gerard during the match against England on last Saturday.

 

• He asserted he would do his best during the next match.

• Echorouk: You played a big game before England. Did you expect that?

• Rais Meboulhi: When I enter the green ground, I always try to show a good level. I think I did my job and tried to avoid many mistakes.

• Echorouk: But you seemed confused at the first minutes of the match?
•  
• Rais Meboulhi: Actually, it is the World Cup and playing before England is not easy, but I was able to repel all shots by strong English players.

• Echorouk: Were you afraid from Rooney and Gerrard, as well as other English stars before entering the stadium?

• Rais Meboulhi: I did not even think of them. I am a professional player and I put all my focus on the way of stopping the ball. I did not care about Rooney or Gerrard.

• Echorouk: Did you expect to play before England, since Chaouchi had recovered from injury?

• Rais Meboulhi: Since I am among the squad that moved to South Africa, I knew that I will play and I was not surprised when Coach Rabah Saadane told me to prepare my self in order to play as a key goalkeeper before England.

• Echorouk: You contributed to the amazing draw before England. What did you think at the end of match?

• Rais Meboulhi: I thought often about my family and Algerian fans, they were very happy. I wish we could continue on the same level before USA.

• Echorouk: You will play a decisive match against USA. Are you ready to continue your great performance?

• Rais Meboulhi: I will do all my best to play with the same level. I think we have chances to win and qualify.
