Raouraoua wants Nourredine Korichi as Saâdane's assistant
According to sources close to the Algerian football federation, its chairman, Mohamed Raouraoua, has officially got in touch with the former defender of the Algerian national football squad, Nourredine Korichi, urging him to join the technical staff of national team coach, Rabah Saâdane who is widely expected to renew his contract with the FAF Federation in the course of this month.
-
The same sources say that Mohamed Raouraoua is banking greatly on the rich footballing experience of Nourredine Korichi who has already coached several football outfits in France with success, notably the team of his district Mantes La Jolie in suburban Paris.
-
-
However, according to a close collaborator of national team coach Rabah Saâdane, the latter has repeatedly expressed his opposition to the inclusion into the technical staff of any newcomer.
-
-
Saâdane wants the national team’s current technical staff to remain unchanged for the sake of stability, as he put it.
-
-
It should be noted that Saâdane is still bitterly remembering the serious row he had with Nourredine Korichi in the 1986 World cup tournament in Mexico regarding the taking in charge at that time of the Algerian professional players playing overseas.
-
-
Observers note, in this respect, that if the chairman of the Algerian football association imposes the inclusion of Nourredine Korichi into the national team’s technical staff, Rabah Saâdane will doubtless find himself in a real quandary.
-
-
This kind of unwanted scenario could well prompt Saâdane to hand in his notice against his will and quit the Algeria squad coaching job before the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers slated for early September. Anyway, life will tell !
