Report warns those suffering from hypertension against watching Greens' World Cup matches

The coordinator of the network of struggle against chronic diseases, Boualak Abdelhamid, has declared to the newspaper Echorouk that there is a glaring lack of medicines against high blood pressure, thus posing a genuine threat to the health of a large number of patients.

  • He indicated to this effect that the number of those patients suffering now from this dangerous ailment reached over 4 million across the national territory.
  • These patients are now at a loss and are unable to find the required medicines against hypertension notably the “Cozar”, the “Hyzaar” and the “Fortzaar” which are grossly lacking in the country’s pharmacies and hospitals, he lamented.
  • He thus issued an urgent call on the relevant authorities to take the necessary steps to provide these indispensable medicines for the benefit of those patients suffering from chronic diseases before it is too late.
  • Moreover, he further recommended to the patients suffering from high blood pressure not to watch the upcoming matches to be played by the Algeria squad in the World cup competition in order to ward off any health hazard on account of the breath-taking suspense involved in the game.
