Runaway prisoners put back behind bars

The security forces of the province of Medea (80 KMs south west of Algiers) have yesterday, Friday, put an end to the adventure of the prisoners on the run who broke out from the penitentiary on Tuesday night.

  •
  • Four out of the six runners have been caught by the security elements yesterday morning at around 9 am in a tiny house located in the popular part of “Sotrartite”, a working-class area, where he squatted a sheltered to hide in.
  • The four runways, who all live in the Medea province, didn’t show signs of resistance as they were caught by surprise. The security forces have succeeded to put back the six prisoners behind bars after intercepting one of them an hour after his escape. The second prisoner has surrendered last Thursday after losing all hopes to slip through the security forces’ nest.
  • The head of the penitentiaries’ administration, Mokhtar Fellioun moved to the province of Medea in a move to spy out the matter, Echourouk has learnt. The head of the prison, who has been recently anointed, as well as the wardens on duty the day of the event are being investigated, reliable sources revealed.
