Scandal brewing at Ben Aknoun law faculty of Algiers
The law faculty of Ben Aknoun in upper Algiers is currently in the grips of a brewing scandal following the discovery 2 days ago by students of their second semester examination papers thrown into the toilets of the faculty's administrative building.
-
Following this untoward development, the students gathered in the courtyard of the law faculty and decided to collect all the examination papers found in the toilets and to litter them in the courtyard after taking pictures of them with their mobile phones.
-
The disgruntled students later stormed the administrative building of the faculty and demanded an explanation without further delay from the Dean of the faculty about this flabbergasting drift not worthy of the stature of a university.
-
The fiery students were later prevented by security guards to penetrate into the administrative building for fear of any damaging act of violence.
-
In a reaction, the students held a sit-in in the faculty’s courtyard by using loudspeakers to denounce this drift which should not have happened, they said.
-
Representatives of the students seized this opportunity to voice their grievances to the press by vehemently blasting the faculty’s administration and some teachers for their “gross mismanagement”, their “glaring partiality during the exams” and their “couldn’t care less attitude” towards the fate of many hapless students, as they put it.
