Sceptical students set a deadline for the Higher Education Minister

The national conference of the deans of universities wound up with a series of resolutions that were largely disputed by the students’ representatives considering them” blurry” and open to interpretations.

• They have decided to open a wide-ranging debate after vacation to clarify their stand concerning the outcome of this conference and the future prospects.

• The conference, whose proceedings concluded the day before yesterday, has definitely confirmed its assent to “ carry on a separate  course of studies between the classical system and the so called LMD ( Bachelor, Master, PHd) as well as their pertaining degrees”.

• One of the resolutions gives the opportunity for students belonging to the “classical system” to prepare their masters.
• 
  
• The lecturers have called on the universities to “deploy more efforts for the assistance of the classical system by increasing the number of Masters’ posts” .

• Numerous representatives from the independent students that took part to this conference have expressed concern over the outcome of the proceedings and called on the Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Rachid Hraoubia to give “thorough explanations before the end of the spring vacation”.
