Scores of illegal immigrants reach Spanish shores during World Cup final
Several boats set sail the day before yesterday from various beaches of the western part of Algeria carrying scores of illegal immigrants who had chosen the day of the world cup final opposing Spain and the Netherlands to reach the Spanish shores.

The coast guards of the province of Chlef ( western Algeria) have yesterday morning foiled an attempt made by 28 youngsters to reach the Spanish shores from the beach of Sidi Lakhdar on two fish boats.

According to sources, the illegal immigrants have skilfully prepared their trip and wanted to draw benefit from the euphoria of the Spanish after their crowning by the world cup against Netherland and the quietness of the sea to fulfil their dream. But the vigilance of the coast guards prevented them from succeeding in their endeavour.

The illegal immigrants whose ages vary between 20 and 40 came from different localities including Al Marssa, Ain Amrane and Chlef. Each of them paid huge sums of money to secure a berth on the other side of the Mediterranean Sea.

The same sources have revealed that other groups of illegal immigrants intend to renew the experience during the upcoming days looking forward for a swift regularization of their situations by the Spanish authorities in the wake of the latest historic triumph of the Spanish football squad in the World cup tournament.
