Secular France can not talk about Islam: minister
Algerian religious affairs minister Bouabdellah Ghulamallah

Current debate about Islam in France is rejected. “France is not allowed to talk about religion because it is a secular country,” Algerian religious affairs minister Bouabdellah Ghulamallah said on Sunday.

  • “The French law forbids discussing religions. The ruling party wants to support Vatican’s tendencies relating to discussion about Islam,” Bouabdellah Ghulamallah told a news conference on Sunday in Algiers.
  •
  • “Most of current cultures in France including the Greek one were transferred thanks to the Islamic culture. Discussion about Islam is part of religions dialogue,” he added.
  •
  • Speaking about Arab revolutions, Bouabdellah Ghulamallah said Algeria can be hit by them. “The Algerian citizens should not listen to people who call for anarchy. There are difficulties which can be overcome by unifying efforts.”
