Security Coordination Between Algeria, Turkey to Counter ISIS Recruitment Plan

Future cooperation between Algeria and Turkey is planned, as Algeria is the first economic trader with Turkey in the African continent, with the size of five billion dollars, Turkey ambassador to Algiers, Mehmet Boroui, revealed, during the meeting which brought him together with Algerian businessmen, at the level of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tefna in Tlemcen (western Algeria) on Sunday.

Largest investments of Turkey are found in Algeria, through the steel plant in Oran, in addition to a huge investment in ghelizane. Telemcen has large investment capabilities and we want to have quality exchanges between the two countries.”

Turkish ambassador told Echorouk that he is trying to learn more about Algeria, a few months after his appointment.

“Tlemcen is my first destination to the western region, where I met with officials and director of the University of Tlemcen, in addition to economic operators, and this is in preparation for the visit which is expected to lead a delegation of businessmen to Tlemcen province, in search of expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two countries.”

Turkish ambassador and through answering questions of journalists, asserted that the end of the Syrian refugees’ problem and the phenomenon of illegal immigration across the coast of Turkey, remains in ending the Syrian crisis. 

The ambassador revealed the existence of 2,700,000 Syrian and Iraqi refugees in the Turkish soil, and Turkey pays 09 billion dollars a year in order to help them and to provide medical and educational care for them.

“There is coordination between the Turkish security services and their Algerian counterpart, to counter terrorism flow across the Turkish border”.
