Security forces arrest two traffickers, recoup load of arms in Ghardaia

A wide combing operation has been conducted by joint security forces last weekend in Ghardaia province concluded by arresting arm traffickers and recouping two Kalashnikov and a load of live ammunition.

A wide combing operation has been conducted by joint security forces last weekend in Ghardaia province concluded by arresting arm traffickers and recouping two Kalashnikov and a load of live ammunition. 

 The combing operation is being led by national army and gendarmerie forces since Friday in the desert areas near the great western erg, on borders between Ghardaia and El Bayadh provinces. 

The joint security forces have managed arresting two traffickers carrying arms and ammunitions.

Yet, the forces are still tracking down path of 4 wheel drive cars which likely belong to terrorists crossing that desert area, mostly as cars are banned from circulating there, since the assassination of customs officers there on 13 February 2006. 

Sources said terrorists are likely trying to transport communication equipments and medicines to terror groups which left eastern areas and attempting to reach regions close to Bechar province.
