Security forces Saturday arrested two women and two men of the same family converted to Al-Ahmaddiyya sect in Nadrouma in the province of Tlemcen.

Investigations showed that the suspects are brothers and sisters and live in France. They adhered to an association working for Al-Ahmaddiyya sect.

Earlier, security forces had received information about a family working for Al-Ahmaddiyya sect in Nadrouma. An investigation was launched followed by an inspection of the family’s house.

The house is owned by a 75-year-old man. He is a father of two sons and two daughters. They were summoned by a court in Nadrouma where they admitted that they had converted to Al-Ahmaddiyya.

The suspects also said they worked for an association in France. Investigations showed that it is a charity association ruled by Al-Ahmaddiyya.

The suspects also said they entered Algeria for tourism and to visit their father. They denied any preaching action for Al-Ahmaddiyya.

This shows that Al-Ahmaddiyy is followed by Algerians living abroad.

Al-Ahmaddiyya is known for attempting to give a negative image of Islam. Its religious rituals are in contradiction with the Islamic Sharia.
