Security raised to maximum at the Algerian national squad training camp in Crans-Montana

Nobody imagined a moment that the quietness of the region of Crans-Montana ( Switzerland) would be spoiled by scores of Algerian fans who flocked to the Greens’ training camp to get the latest news of the Bougherra’s teammates.

  •
  • The security forces found tremendous difficulties to get the situation under control at Geneva’s international airport and the areas surrounding the players’ hotel filled with scores of fans who were chanting slogans like “ One… Two… Three… Viva l’Algérie”
  •
  • Algerian security forces took over
  •
  • The Algerian security elements, who accompanied the Algerian national squad to guarantee their security, have succeeded to control the situation owing to their skilful dealing with the fans that mostly came from France and different Swiss towns.
  •
  • Fans from all age categories were waiting at the hotel’s main entrance singing songs to glorify the Algerian national squad and turning on their car radios spoiling, thus concentration of the players.
  •
  • The Swiss security forces were compelled to intervene in order to disperse the hysteric crowd that gathered by the Greens’ headquarters. Even the freezing temperatures and snowfalls didn’t prevent them to move to the players’ hotel.
  •
  • The fans do not miss a single opportunity to take photos or ask autographs from the players; one of them has asked one of the players to sign on his body.
  •
  • Stiffened security pending the training session of May 23
  •
  • The first public training session of the greens is slated for May 23 at Challet stadium where the fans are allowed to approach the players and take photos with them. Security will be raised to maximum pending this session in a move to prevent any crowd disorder. But the main concern of the technical staff is tomorrow’s first training session out of the hotel venues. The location was kept secret and security stiffened.
  •
  • Three supporters have paid 350 Euros each to book a room at the same hotel where the Algerian delegation dwells in order to attend to the Green’s training session, though the Algerian federation has booked all the rooms to avoid these types of surprises.
  •
  • Michael Schumacher’s house designer, an Algerian born who goes by the name of Mohammed Boukhari, is one of the fervent supporters of the Greens but despite his worldwide reputation he was prevented from meeting the players. He has declared that he will try again next time.
