Security services arrest drug dealers in Algiers

Algerian security services arrested a gang of smuggling and selling drugs brought from Morocco across the Algerian borders.

 

  

Security personnel seized over 100 kg of cannabis in possession of smugglers, who intended to promote drugs in Algiers neighborhoods.

 

The process of arresting smugglers occurred after doubts of policemen at a checkpoint in Baba Ahcen (Algiers) about two persons on board of a Chevrolet Optra car, who escaped as soon as they approached the checkpoint, pushing security men to chase them. The two smugglers left the car and escape. Policemen found four parcels of drugs with the weight of 100 kg in the car.

 

Police managed to arrest one of them “Ch.L” who revealed on the identity of his friend called “Risco”, the latter became paraplegic with loss of speech due to hypertension following his arrest.

 

Security investigations found that the drugs were smuggled from Morocco via the of Nadroma in Telemcen (west of Algeria), then promoted and sold in Algiers by a dealer living in Bourouba.

 

Clashes between security forces and inhabitants erupted during the process of arresting the accused in Bourouba, as they resorted to throwing stones to obstruct the work of police.

 

The two accused will stand on 1st June before the criminal court of Algiers.
