Security services smash currency forgery ring in Algiers and Oran
The security services of the province of Algiers in conjunction with those of the western city of Oran have dismantled a trafficking ring involved in the forgery of Algerian banknotes and official documents.
- 8 people aged between 30 and 46 years’ old, making up this trafficking ring, were rounded up this week by security forces in Algiers and Oran.
- This group of traffickers was involved in the forgery of 500 and 1000 dinar banknotes and official documents used for the sale and purchase of vehicles and other illegal practises.
- According to security sources, 200.000 dinars in forged banknotes were seized by the security forces after an exhaustive investigation which led to the arrest of these 8 traffickers.
