Senior officials in Algerie Telecom record calls of customers to blackmail them

Senior official in Algerie Telecom’s regional commission in Annaba, eastern Algeria, and head of the technical service, wad referred to the disciplinary board, based on the report that was prepared by the regional directorate, as the head of the service will stand before this body, here on Monday, while the official will be referred to a local disciplinary board that will be held during the next days in Algiers, Echorouk reliable sources said.
Regional manager of Algerie telecom in Annaba orders the opening of an internal investigation in the case of threatening and blackmailing clients through recording their calls, after the complaints that he received from an employee, stating that the official was accused of blackmailing his colleagues with personal and professional records of calls.
Regional Inspectorate investigation found that the head of the service was condemned of recording the call unfairly, while the official used it to blackmail a third person.
Same sources that reported the news said the case was not referred to security investigation, but asserted that parties from within the company tried to obliterate it, but failed to do that, as the general directorate of human resources sent an instruction to the regional directorate for the need to hold a disciplinary board to consider these accusations that were considered as dangerous and violating law.
