Soltani warns against domino effect in Algeria
The leader of the Movement for Society of Peace ( MSP) party, Abu Djerra Soltani has warned against the spread of the uprisings that wracked Tunisia and Egypt in Algeria, calling the Algerian officials to be attentive to the population’s needs before it’s too late.
- In a message posted yesterday on his party’s official website, he has overtly called out to the president Abdelaziz Bouteflika to ponder on the events that rocked the neighboring countries, dubbing the wave of protests on the Algerian social front as “ minor embers that should be dealt with common sense and transformed to in-depth reforms”.
- Abu Djerra Soltani has further indicated in his message that “ The Arab populations are now eager to take part to the democratic process initiated by the wind of change and reforms that swept through these region, provided that the initiative is not masterminded by foreign forces or stifled by internal ones”.
- The party leader has also asserted that void promises and bombastic statements would turn” minor protests to revolution” noting, that “ young people awareness to the global issues requires from the decision -makers to reach out to them otherwise they would do it in their place, but there isn’t a third option”.
