Sonatrach CEO sues human resources officials
CEO of Algeria’s energy group Sonatrach Nourredine Cherrouati lodged complaints against former officials at human resources department while justice started making necessary legal arrangements to recover director of energy minister’s office Reda Hameche.

Mohamed Reda Hameche went to Switzerland for retirement. The, he travelled to Turkey where he is living. He has been the man No 2 in the energy and mines sector in Algeria for many years.

Sources said his deportation measures were decided in light of investigations into Sonatrach issue. The group’s former CEO Mohamed Meziane and his deputies accused him of ordering Algeria’s former energy minister Chakib Khelil to grant tens of deals amicably to some companies by the phone. He was also mediator between Sonatrach, research departments and foreign companies to get energy project against the law.

Mohamed Reda Hamche will be asked to respond the allegation that Meziane received orders from him on behalf of Khalil.

Earlier before he had joined the energy ministry, he was a former employee at the Algerian foreign ministry. He was sentenced in France where he worked at an Algerian consulate before he had run away to Turkey.
