Sonatrach plans to change its way of working

Sonatrach’s CEO Abdelmoumene Ould Keddour announced that the energy group prepares a new strategy by 2030.

“We launched a project that includes Sonatrach’s strategy for 15 years. It will determine how the group will be in the future, how it will arrive to that and what are the means to do so,” Ould Keddour told reporters on his working visit to a gas plant in Ouargula.

“Sonatrach works on examining the plan on medium and long terms. It will be announced once completed,” he added.

“We want to know where we go and whether we will be a gas or an oil company. We will also know if we will produce solar energy or we will conduct other actions. We will determine our vision and develop goals. On this basis, we will define the necessary means to execute the plan by 2030,” he also said.

Ould Keddour also said he plans to make changes to Sonatrach’s way of working.

“Sonatrach plans to change its way of working. We have to change the attitude of our company,” he added.

He stressed the importance of managing and improving the quality of human resources, saying “we will encourage workers to be creative and productive. We will urge them to use their smartness in favor of the company instead of relying on bureaucracy and administration.”
