According to Sonatrach’s CEO Nourredine Cherrouati, the guidelines are intended to all the employees, directors, executive directors, partners, importers, consultants and contractors.

“We have to work together to protect and preserve the good reputation acquired by Sonatrach with difficulty. We have to continue to prove the trust put by the nation in the group and its capacities,” he said.

“The guidelines include all Sonatrach’s moral and behaviour expectations but they are no more than a start point,” he added.

“Sonatrach develops its relations and activities in transparency. It is necessary to not divulge confidential information about the group even after the end of the job contract.”

“Corruption is a serious action punished by the law and it leads to judicial prosecution and break the working relation.”

“We must not achieve goals through illegal or immoral means either from employees, importers, partners or clients of Sonatrach.”

Sonatrach prevents its employees from “getting money or any valuable thing from any person or entity regardless its nature in return for another material profit.”

It also prevents its employees from making a payment, a promise or transporting any valuable thing to any person or entity regardless its nature to get a profit.”

“If any employee is involved in corruption, it is necessary to notify the Ethics committee at Sonatrach. The corrupted employee will be punished and the other corrupted part will be prevented from making any commercial relation with Sonatrach.”

Sonatrach’s employees are allowed to accept symbolic gifts of modest value or respectful courtesy invitations.”

“All gifts and privileges are rejected during the period of tenders announcement or commercial negotiations.”
