Sonelgaz’s rights for sale starting from May

Stockmarket will launch talks with Algeria’s energy group Sonelgaz to sell rights to people. An agreement is due to be signed in May, according to chief of stockmarket organizing and monitoring committee Abdelhakim Berah.

« Those rights will constitute a new form to fund governmental enterprises which suffer a financial deficit. The Algeria stockmarket will experience a new phase by March. Private and public operators will start operating,” Berah said.

“People will be allowed to invest in all the fields without exception including cement, medicines, energy, services and insurances,” he added.

He also said the stockmarket’s role in the next phase will be attracting black market money by presenting offers and sale services. Shares and motivating alternative solutions will be offered. “This would inject new money in the State’s treasury.”
