Spanish halal meat on Algerian tables in Ramadan

Ministry of Agriculture has concluded a deal with a Spanish firm to import fresh red meat from Spain, to anticipate any sacristy of that foodstuff during the holy month of Ramadan.

 Sources told Echorouk the Spanish operator has recently sent a delegation to Algeria to settle the deal with four local private importers, who were accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture to import and market Spanish meat for one year.

The intended imported Spanish meat meets halal standards, as the factory in charge of exporting it has snatched the approval of the Cordoba Halal Institute. 

 The cargos of the first 20 tons of the Spanish meat are to arrive to Algeria early next June, while the next shipments are due to disembark all along the summer, before the Ramadan holy month

The Ministry of Agriculture aims at anticipating any shortage in meat offer, and yet to block the way to any potential speculation that might provoke price soaring of this essential foodstuff on the eve of Ramadan.
