National Coordination of Free Students (CNIEL) is due to hold, as by tomorrow, a protest march from La Grade Post Square towards the government office.
- A statement issued by CNIEL called students to partake massively in the march of tomorrow, in order to press authorities to meet their pedagogic claims.
- The statement further called students to start nationwide strike to mark the peaceful march, which is to start from La Grade Post square in downtown Algiers, towards the Government Office in Dr Saadane Street.
- 15 thousand students are to participate in the march.
- Furthermore, the CNIEL specified that a group of lawyers have been contacted to defend the sued students in Justice.
- A representative of the CNIEL, Youcef Saadi, told Echourouk that the students are claiming to reconstruct the university system on “healthy” foundations.
- Mr Saadi further added that fifth-year students should be attributed equivalent degree to the one suggested by the in force LMD system.
- In this regard, the student campaigner claimed that the degree of State Engineer should be equivalent to the Master 2 degree. He added that students belonging to the classical system should be granted the right to integrate the new adopted system.
- To recall, about 30 to 40 students were injured during the last march of 12 April 201, after clashes with law and order forces near the President Office.
