Sudan Defence Minister visits Algiers

ALGIERS- Sudan's Minister of Defence, Major General Abdul Rahim Mohamed Hussein, who visits Tuesday Algeria, said the visit was aimed at consulting President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika about the forthcoming southern Sudan referendum and other issues relating to Darfur.

“We are in Algeria as part of permanent consultation with President Bouteflika, and to provide him with the latest political developments in Sudan, especially as Sudan has entered a new stage in the north-south referendum,” the Sudanese minister said in a press statement upon his arrival in Algiers.
