Sudden strike paralyses trains’ traffic in Algiers
Trains traffic was paralysed yesterday following the unexpected open strike launched by the trains’ drivers causing disagreements for the commuters along the eastern and western railroads.

Reliable sources have revealed to Echourouk that National Federation of Railroads Workers has started negotiations that wrapped up with decision to go on strike as from the first week of June, but they cancelled it because this period coincides with the baccalaureate exams.

To recall, scores of students use this means of transportation to commute on daily basis.

For his part, main Coordinator of the National Federation of the Railroads Workers Aafati Noureddine has indicated to Echourouk that the strike was spontaneous. The workers denounced the attitude of their administration that didn’t fulfil their demands.
