Suicide attack kills five people and wounds 30 in Algeria
Five people were killed and 30 were wounded in a suicide attack on a paramilitary police barracks in Timizar area (68 km east of Algiers) Thursday night.

The suicide bomber was driving a truck and attacked the barracks from the back fence avoiding the main entrance.

One of the killed victims was a 48-year-old Chinese man and a 30-year-old Algerian citizen. They were passing by the barracks when the bombs blew up. Three gendarmes died on the way to hospital while 30 wounded people received first-aid treatment.

The explosion was followed by a 30-minute violent clash where gendarmes killed six terrorists.

Witnesses said terrorists were trying to perpetrate a massacre as their leaders were heard ordering to kill any person passing by that way.

According to the same source, the attack caused damage to buildings next to the barracks and raised panic among residents.
