Supreme African Football Governing Body rules out Mali’s complaint

The chairman of the Algerian football federation Mohammed Raouraoua has yesterday revealed to Echourok that the CAF disciplinary committee has yesterday discussed the complaint lodged by the Malian federation in the event of their disqualification from the African Cup of Nations tournament in the first round.

  •
  • After deliberation, the committee has ruled out the Malian reckless accusations over an alleged plot orchestrated by both the Algeria and Angola squads against them to pass to the second round.
  •
  • The committee has indicated that both teams didn’t infringe the rule of the game and kept their goals virgin especially in the last 20 minutes of the game, because both of them were relentless to venture.
  •
  • As to the allegations that say that the Algerian and Angolan players alike have received order from outside to arrange the match, Mohammed Raouraoua has indicated that the technical side has only informed the players about the score of the second match between Mali and Malawi and reacted accordingly on the field.
  •
  • On account of these elements of information, the CAF has decided to validate the outcome of the Match that opposed Angola to Algeria and denied Mali, confirming thus many experts analysis except some zealous Egyptians who fear another confrontation against Algeria in the semi-finals.
  •
  • Guaouaoui present in Cabinda
  •
  • On the other hand, Mohammed Raouraoua has revealed that he got in touch with the Algerian goalkeeper Lounes Guaouaoui and asked him to join the team before moving to Cabinda on Friday to play Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals. Raouraoua has indicated that the starting goalkeeper has completely recovered from his surgery on the appendicitis.
  •
  • The match versus Ivory Coast is a challenge for all the players.
  •
  • The chairman of the federation has declared that the next match versus the “Elephants” of Ivory Coast is considered as a challenge by all the players on account that the world will discover the real standard of the Algeria squad versus another serious component likely to play the first roles in the forthcoming World Cup.
  •
  • “ we have a good team able to spread joy in heart of millions of Algerians and capable of passing to semi-finals” , he added.
