Syrian authorities release the Algerian reporter Khaled Sid Mohand
Syrian authorities released here on Tuesday morning the Algerian journalist Khaled Sid Mohand detained since April 9th and handed over to the Algerian Embassy in Damascus in order to take the necessary measures following accusations and rumors of arms possession reported in Arab and World media.
To confirm this news Echorouk contacted a diplomatic source from the Algerian embassy in Damascus which asserted that Khaled was freed and he is healthy and safe because he had not been tortured.
Same source added that Khaled Mohand was arrested because he did not possess permission by the Syrian officials to work as a reporter, as is the case in other countries and not because he possessed weapons, as reported in several media.
