Terrorism: Three gendarmes killed in a roadside bomb explosion east of Algeria

Three Algerian gendarmes assassinated, on Sunday morning, and one injured, in a terrorist ambush by “Al Morabitine” battalion, belonging to the GSPC or AQIM, in Jijel, east of Algeria.

 

• According to preliminary investigation, an unknown terrorist group planned the terrorist ambush aiming to kill national gendarmes.

• The three gendarmes’ dead bodies were transferred to hospital, as the injured one was taken to Constantine CHU, east of Algeria, following dangerous wounds.

• According to Echorouk sources, the terrorist attack, which occurred at 9:00 am in Taza beach, in Aouana, 16 km west of Jijel, east of Algeria, implemented by terrorists, who planted a roadside bomb in the centre of control and guard allocated for gendarmes in the beach. The roadside bomb planted under the sand, exploded on Sunday at 9:00 am when gendarmes managed to enter the beach.

• This terrorist attack left a state of shock among holidaymakers, as it occurred at the beginning of their arriving to the beaches of the region, thing that would leave an impact on the summer season in this locality.

• Terrorist groups try often to implement their attacks during this season, and focused on the western regions of the locality, because it is considered one of the most beautiful tourist areas in the world.

• Services of the national gendarmerie opened an investigation on this process, and military helicopters surveyed the mountainous areas of the nearby regions.
