Terrorist killed and one arrested in a military operation in southern Algeria

The Algerian Popular Army troops have Wednesday night to Thursday have stopped an incursion attempted by terrorists from the Salafit Group for Call and Combat with the help of smugglers to pass through the passage of “Tadmait” hill in the region of Ain Salah towards “Oued Mia” in Ghardia, southern Algeria.

• Our sources revealed that the operation left one dead among the terrorists during the clash that took place in the area known “ Ezzaouia” and the arrest one of the leaders in the terrorist organization who was assigned the task to funnel heavy armament and ammunition to the terrorist strongholds in Biskra.

• The same sources have indicated that fire exchange between the terrorists and the military troops has lasted nearly two hours where automatic riffles and wound up with the killing of one terrorist and the surrender of another.

• The operation was triggered following information collected by the security forces from one of the arrested drug smugglers in the region of Tamanrasset last Friday.

• The sources indicated that the terrorists belong to the “veiled squad ” that cover up the movements of the terrorists who move to the northern parts of the country passing by northern Mali through the provinces of Adrar and Tamanrasset  in southern Algeria.
