Terrorist ring leader surrenders to security forces and makes key revelations

The leader of terrorist group “ Al Farouk squad” the so called, “ Abdeldjabbar” who claimed the responsibility for the abduction of “ Ami Ali” in the region of Boghni, Tizi Ouzou (100 kms east of Algiers) has surrendered to the security forces to benefit from the peace and reconciliation measures initiated by the Algerian authorities.

• The repentant has made key revelations concerning several elements involved in the support of terrorism which led to the elimination a number of them by the security forces in the triangular zone of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira.

• The terrorist’s surrender stemmed from his deep conviction as to the positive aspects of the project and the illegitimacy of “Djihad” and the pressure implied by the inhabitants of the village of Boghni to release their fellow old citizen.

• All these elements put together have pushed the dangerous criminal to reconsider his position and give up his terrorist activities. He pledged to help the security forces to convince other terrorists including one of his relatives to surrender also.

• The surrender of the criminal came after a series of negotiations with the security forces that coincided with the kidnapping of the old man “ Ami Ali”. He moved to the security forces services with an automatic riffle and disclosed the identities of several of his companions who decided to follow his move.

• One of the elements who was involved in the kidnapping of the old man has committed suicide right after his family received a call-up from the security forces to investigate him. He was alongside his friend involved in the kidnapping and at the same time a member of the village’s coordination in charge of the negotiation with the terrorist for the liberation of “Ami Ali”, local sources revealed.

• Some 25 to 50 terrorists have been either arrested or killed by the security forces in the regions of Boumerdes and eastern Algeria, giving this a serious blow to the terrorists, security forces have revealed.
