The Confederation of African Football’s decision to postpone the date of sending its experts to Cameroon to check stadiums, training centres and facilities due to host the African Cup of Nations 2019 would be related to security conditions.

The Cameroonian Football Federation said it is angry with a rumour about security threats on the African experts.

Its president Tombi A Roko Sidiki said local authorities ensured all the necessary security measures for the African experts. They will have a place to stay away from any danger.

The experts were supposed to arrive to Cameroon on Sunday to stay there until August 28th.

The Confederation of African Football Saturday said the company in charge of the mission postponed the date of the visit to Cameroon.

The African expert’s fears are likely due to Cameroonians’ threat as they expressed anger about remarks made by the Confederation of African Football’s president Ahmad Ahmad. He said Cameroon is not ready to organize the African Cup of Nations 2019. He also alluded to the possibility of transferring the championship to another country.

Fears can also be explained by current security problems related to counterterrorism.

Cameroon faces pressures and fears of being deprived of the organization of the African Cup of Nations 2017.

Cameroon has not experienced such difficult conditions for almost the third of a century. During this period, the Confederation of African Football was presided by Cameroonian Aissa Hayatou in 1988-2017.
