Algeria football squad have managed Wednesday securing an away 1-2 win against Gambia, in the first leg of the second round qualifiers to the CAN 2013.

Gambia opened the score (26) as Cissé took profit of misunderstanding between Algeria defenders, and sent the ball in the net. Six minutes earlier, the Malian referee of the game rejected a goal scored by Guedioura (20’) over an offside position flagged by the sideline referee.

The pitch was impracticable, as the players of the two sides found difficulties to control the ball and perform accurate passes.

In the second half, the men of Algeria coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, showed more determination, as they managed to equalize when Captain Anthar Yahia snatched a bad save of the Gambian goalkeeper, and put the ball in the net.

Valencia’s midfielder Sofiane Feghouli made it 2-1 for the Greens, when he beat Gambia goalkeeper with a powerful shot (75’).

Vahid Halihodzic who vowed to play an all out attack strategy to return home with a win, held his promise, pending the second leg in Algeria scheduled for 16 June.
