The Greens arrive at Marrakech ahead of much-awaited Morocco-Algeria qualifier

The Greens of Algeria arrived last night at Marrakech airport coming from southern Spain where they had carried out a training camp in expectation of the decisive derby match next Saturday versus Morocco.

• Upon their arrival at Marrakech airport, the players of the national football squad were welcomed by a folkloric band and a strong media presence.

• At a time when the Wali or Governor of Marrakech greeted the Algerian national team and the technical staff, about 150 Algerian supporters on the spot shouted in unison the well-renowned rhyme : “One, Two, Three, Viva l’Algerie” with the aim of boosting the spirits of the Greens.

• After the warm welcome extended to the Algeria line-up at the airport, a bus transported all the players and the technical staff to their hotel amid stringent security measures in order to ward off any drift.

• However, one hitch was to be deplored in Marrakech on the arrival of the Greens there.

• A tight barricade prevented the journalists to get close to the Greens and the latter had to wait for the intervention of an official from the Algerian football federation to allow the special envoys of the various channels of the national radio to cover this outstanding football event.

•  It should be noted that the long-awaited derby match between Morocco and Algeria is part of the 4^th stage of the qualifiers of the 2012 Africa cup of nation’s competition.

• The Morocco-Algeria qualifier is slated to kick off at 21 hours (Algerian time) next Saturday, June 4^th  in the stadium of Marrakech.
