The hero of “Ghost” and “Dirty Dancing” in critical health conditions
Patrick Swayze is suffering with pancreatic cancer and has been given weeks to live according to U.S. magazine The National Enquirer. The magazine claims Swayze has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Stanford University Medical Centre in alifornia for a month.
Swayze and his 51-year-old wife Lisa Niemi both have pilot’s licenses and it’s claimed they have been flying themselves to the centre at weekends in the hope that the treatments would remain secret.
Doctors at the centre are understood to have been disappointed that the tumour did not shrink as much as they had hoped with the treatments.
The US magazine quotes a source saying: ” He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short – they held out little hope for a cure.” According to the celebrity magazine the 55-year-old star of Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has as little as five weeks to live.
