The modern Algerian State’s Founder, Emir Abdelkader was behind Suez Canal project

The military officers’ club will today host in Algiers a two day international meeting on the Algerian state’s father founder sponsored by “Al Emir Abdelkader” Association under the slogan” The allegiance symbolic: scopes and landmarks”.

• On this occasion, Echourok met the Association’s chairman Mohammed Boutaleb and the Scientific Council’s chairman Saleh Ben Al Koubi. The encounter was an opportunity to take the veil off some misleading historic events surrounding the man’s personality as well as his influence at the Arab, regional and international levels.
• Algeria didn’t drop out “Damer” castle and negotiated a lot with Syria but..!
• Mohammed Boutaleb has cleared his Association and the Algerian government from the accusations launched by the Prince’s granddaughter, Princess Badiaa, who laid the blame on the Algerian authorities for disregarding Al Emir’s belongings and the nonchalance showcased by the Algerian foreign ministry to retrieve his castle in a bid to transform it to an Algerian cultural center in Damascus.
• In this respect, Mohammed Boutaleb has declared “ A delegation from the Algerian foreign and cultural ministries has moved to Damascus and met the Princess Amel Kabil, before the expatriation of the Abdelkader’s mortal remains… Al Amir’s family based in Syria was against the move if not his last will…

• For his part , Saleh Ben Al Koubi went on saying “ To be straight, we refused to the use of our love for this personality for other purposes, the historical context at that time was different from present especially in relation to the Syrian position concerning  the Palestinian cause… We have negotiated with them several times, but the outcome was always negative..”
• Al Amir Abdedlkader played a role in the Suez Canal
• Saleh Ben Al Koubi has revealed that Al Amir Abdelkader has convinced Al Khidioui Said to create the Suez Canal stressing the importance of this project in bridging the gap between the Near East and the Maghgreb region. He went on sating that El Emir Abdelkader was present at the inauguration of the project, he went on saying that Al Khidioui Said has offered one thousand hectares of land to El Emir Abdelkader and asked him to bring Algerian to settle there, but the Egyptians strongly opposed the move and stood against Al Khidioui.
• Mohammed Boutaleb has stressed the importance of retrieving the Algerian state’s archives from France. As to the proposal to give scholarships for students he added “ I’ve written to the Higher Education Ministry and the Scientific Research on the matter in  order to give the opportunity for students to use these archives , knowing that some 45 thousand letters written by Al Amir Abdelkader have disappeared from Algeria”.
• Saleh Ben Al Koubi has indicated that France was not against the idea of retrieving the Algerian archives adding that Al Amir’s archives are scattered across different countries of the globe including Denmark, Turkey and even the United Sates of America
