Tayeb Zitouni, Algerian Minister of Moujahidine or War Veterans
Algerian war veterans’ minister Tayeb Zitouni said there is no Harki (loyalists who had supported France) in Algeria. The ministry has a list of war veterans during the liberation revolution.
“There is no Harki in Algeria. We have a national list of war veterans’ names,” the minister told Echorouk.
This comes as French historians said Harkis are still living in Algeria and did not leave it after the independence.
Zitouni pledged to publish a detailed report about the issue.
