Third Algeria-Portugal high-level meeting: Ahmed Ouyahia in Lisbon

LISBON (Portugal)- Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia has been since Monday in Lisbon to co-chair, with his Portuguese counterpart Jose Socrates, the third Algerian-Portuguese high-level meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

At the meeting, to be held within the framework of the Treaty of Friendship and Good-Neighbourly signed by the two countries in 2005, the two officials will consider bilateral cooperation and examine ways and methods to strengthen it.

Portuguese companies will be invited to “seize investment opportunities and the potential offered by our country and get involved in a lasting partnership.

The two sides will exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.” The agenda includes peace and security in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The high-level meeting will wrap up with the signing of several cooperation agreements in many fields, such as renewable energies, public works, water resources, information and communication technologies, culture and communication.
