Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture: 31 documentaries and 19 plays in the program

Fans of the Seventh and Fourth Arts will enjoy, during the event of Tlemcen (west of Algeria), Capital of Islamic Culture 2011, a number of theatrical performances and documentary films about some icons of the city.

The cultural program includes production of documentaries to be divided to three groups; the first contains documentaries and fiction participating with 31 works about “Sidi Boumediene”, “Kadour Ben Achour”, “Lala Meghnia”, “Sidi M’hamed Essnousi Etlamcani” and “Abdelkrim Ben Achour”.

 

Second group contains long fiction with two works “Mohamed Dib” and “Al Andalousi”, while the third group includes documentaries about Intangible Heritage of Tlemcen (west of Algeria) and many other regions, as well as living icons among female singers in Algeria.

 

Theater will have a unique program throughout the event through directing 19 plays by the Algerian National Theater Mohieddine Bachtarzi, the regional theaters and private cooperatives.
