“Tlemcen, capital of Islamic culture”: 365 books to be published

TLEMCEN (Algeria)- Some 365 books are planned to be published as part of the event “Tlemcen, capital of Islamic culture” in “book program” section, culture directorate said.

These publications will concern Tlemcen history and its tangible and intangible heritage as well as the roles of this bimillenary city on socio-economic and political, spiritual and art plans.

From prehistory until Islam passing by Zianid era and colonial era, scholars and personalities from this region will be revisited through their written works or the documents by Algerian contemporary intellectuals.

A part of the publishing program will be devoted to the “beautiful books and books of art” which recount the historical, cultural and Islamic heritage of this region as well as the national heritage facets.
