Tourism projects: Assessment and monitoring of 523 projects

ALGIERS-A meeting of assessment and monitoring of tourism investment projects launched between 2008 and 2010 will be held Wednesday in Algiers chaired by Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Smail Mimoun.

This meeting, held with the participation of investors and public and private operators, will provide an update on the progress of the 523 tourism investment projects launched since 2008.

These projects consist of building various hotel structures nationwide and for total of 50,000 beds, while the ministry’s objective is to achieve the 70,000 beds by 2015. However, investors in tourism mentioned at previous meetings with officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Handicraft, the difficulties they face.

In this regard, all operators involved in tourism projects, including directors of tourism of the 48 provinces, representatives of the Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF) and the General Tax Direction and areas will attend the meeting this Wednesday.
