Tourist cars allowed to enter Algeria only once in a year

Algeria customs services applied an unwritten legal article about licensing the entry of cars of immigrants to the customs territory, as law states six months that are not renewable, but customs services makes it only once a year even if the car stepped out beyond the nation’s borders then returned once again.

The case came to the surface during the discussion of the Finance Law last week, after it was asked by the Algerian community representative in the European and American regions, Noureddine Belmedah, as customs services argues before immigrants that the cars declaration document for six months that are not renewable, and the process is allowed only for one year, so they are prevented from bringing their cars another time even if it left the country then returned back again.

According to Belmeddah, this behavior is a result of a temperamental result of the law, as if law states for six months only per year, and this is included at all in the law that states that allowing the immigrants to let their tourist cars in Algeria for six months that are not renewable means that the owner is obliged to leave the country on board of his/her car.
