Trade: “An executive decree in the offing to overhaul market activity”
The Trade Minister, Mustapha Benbada, has announced that an executive decree pertaining to the overhauling and reorganization of market activity will be promulgated shortly by the government.
- Taking the floor during the weekly Echorouk’s Forum, the Trade Minister explained that this projected decree was part of a plan of modernization and reorganization of the trade sector which is marked, he said, by a legislation vacuum notably regarding the now murky relationship of the producer with the intermediaries and the retail traders.
- The promulgation of this executive decree comes at a time when the government has just decided to create wholesale markets including 4 national and 10 regional markets tallying with modern norms.
- A sizable financial package will be allotted for this purpose, Benbada said.
- The Trade Minister added that banks were expected to take part in the achievement of these projects with a financial package amounting to 25 billion dinars by setting an interest rate not exceeding 1%, he pointed out.
