Traffic law to be reviewed soon to stop accidents
Algeria entered a new stage in the modernization of administration through the elimination of decentralization and bureaucracy through various actions that were taken by the State, Interior and Local Communities Minister, Noureddine Badawi, said on Monday, during a press conference following his supervision on the launch of extracting the biometric passports from the municipalities.
“The start is applied in Algiers, and will reach the different municipalities of the major cities soon. Services of the municipalities were experiencing endless queues at all social entries. But these queues disappeared thanks to the database that was developed by the Interior Ministry in the services of several ministries, and contributed to the rationalization of expenditures through the provision of 20 billion ZDZ.”
“Our services are bent on realizing an excellent electronic administration starting with the electronic identification card, which holder will be able to use it in various sectors of the Health and Social Security Ministry, and various financial services, thanks to what it contained from information and personal data that are capable of facilitating the various operations that terrorize the citizen, and even contribute to the elimination of bureaucracy against investors, as thanks to the electronic identity card, the private investors are able to communicate with the officials in their offices.”
“Professional competence certificate will be completely cancelled after the expiry of its term or changing the place of residence of citizens. Concerned departments will work with each other to confirm the information on the owner of the license on the occasion of renewal. Our services are discussing the draft electronic driving license after the identification card. It will bring revenues to the municipalities through the payment of the value of the drivers’ irregularities which will be mandatory, contrary to what is happening now, thanks to this license these irregularities will be recorded.
“Current traffic laws will be reviewed, as our services opened a workshop to update the traffic laws in coordination with the Transport, Public Works Ministries and the security services, after recording staggering numbers in traffic accidents, due to the drivers who do not apply the traffic laws strictly, threatening violators to beat with an iron hand anyone who violates those laws.
