Some travel agencies and organizers of trips rush to rent a considerable number of buses, causing a severe transport crisis for provinces which affected the travelers.

New Year’s celebrations and winter holidays which coincided with the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohamad (PBUH) for this year disturbed the travelers who move across the provinces, where the citizens live, since more than a week, a state emergency and tension because of the serious lack of buses that are used for transportation.

Travelers lived throughout the entire week, a state of tension due to the lack of transportation in some cases, the problem that is repeated every year, as this time the protest of the taxi drivers in Algiers noticed a large flux and a doubled pressure for travelers.

Head of the National Organization for Transporters, Houcine Bouraba, asserted that the crisis emerged due to the absence of regulation, blaming the transport managers for what happens and is repeated each year, because those are responsible for the granting of licenses for trips to the owners of the buses.

“More than 20% of the buses are granted trips’ licenses at a time when law decides the granting of licenses only in the framework of the blue plan, or for travel agencies with the approval of the Transport Department.”
