Tunisian Channel “Nessma TV” falls in disgrace

A gallup poll recently carried out in Tunisia by “ Sigma” institute on several satellite TV channels concerning the African Cup of Nations viewer ship, has revealed that the program broadcast on the Tunisian satellite channel, “Nessma TV” called “ Ness Al Can” was at its nadir and didn’t exceed 1%.

• Even though some consider the score as unprecedented in TV records, many others were not surprised to the survey’s outcome arguing that the program was mediocre since the beginning but reached its lowest level this weekend, as it turned to be a real masquerade forcing most of the Algerian guests who took part to the first sessions to withdraw for good.

• Many Algerian stars like Saib, Menad and Hadj Adlane have resorted to quit the set on account of the programs poor quality and the failure of the inexperienced anchorman to moderate the debates.

• Most of the Algerian athletes and other guests have noticed that there were deliberate attempts to dwarf them and belittle their status, as it was the case in the past when the “Karaoui” brothers were producing the program” Akhir kalima” for the Algerian TV and “ Star Academy Maghreb” three years ago.

• The policy followed by the Karaoui brothers led to the channel’s bankruptcy in the past and was salvaged by “MediaSat” that took over most of the channel’s shares put it afloat again.

• Following this short-sighted strategy, it is unlikely that Nessma TV penetrates the Algerian market because the Algerian authorities didn’t like the way with which this channel dealt with the conflict that broke out between Algerian and Egypt recently.

• Nessma TV has overtly biased to the Algerian side and took advantage of the situation to transfer a part of Djezzy’s budget for its benefit.
