Tunisians Flock to Algeria, Algerians Avoid Visiting Tunisia
Joint forces of the gendarmes, armed troops and border guards launched, on Friday evening, large combing operations on the border state of Souk Ahras (Eastern Algeria), immediately after the attempt of a terrorist group to storm the border post of the Tunisian Sakiet Sidi Youssef area, that belongs to Kef province, adjacent to its Algerian counterpart, at the level of Hedada border municipality in Souk Ahras.
According to Echorouk sources, security services advised all its passengers, across this border post, to refrain from travelling in this period in order to avoid any problems that may have negative consequences, and because the situation is not good, even after addressing the terrorist operation by the Tunisian security services, especially as the area is noticing, in this period, a large influx of travellers from the party which coincided with spring break.
According to available information, many Algerian families retreated from travelling after hearing the news about the security situation in the region, as Echorouk published, in the previous numbers, articles about the precautionary measures for the security forces that are deployed on the entire border, and which is consisting of five municipalities that were strengthened with joint security forces from the neighbouring provinces like Annaba and Guelma.
