Turkey Thanks Algeria For Standing Against The Failed Coup Attempt

Turkish government expressed its gratitude to the Algerian position of the failed coup attempt that targeted the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the past July 15, according to a statement that was issued by the Foreign Ministry.

Turkish position was expressed by Ankara’s Foreign Minister, Mouloud Jawish Oglu, in a meeting which gathered him with the Algerian counterpart, Ramtane Lamamra, in the city of New York, on the sidelines of the 71st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, an occasion which formed a chance for another meeting that brought Lamamra with the Head of Turkmenistan diplomatic mission.

The statement said that the head of the Turkish diplomacy presented Turkey’s “thanks and gratitude to Algeria on the position of solidarity which corresponds to the international legitimacy message. 

Same statement also confirmed the Turkish minister’s insistence to pay tribute on behalf of his country’s authorities with “the wise and insightful vision” the of President Bouteflika, and the statesmanship, which characterized the first judge of the country, according to the statement.

In the same context, Mouloud Jawish Oglu, expressed the Turkish government’s desire to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, and also praised the facilities that were received by the Turkish companies that are operating in Algeria, and what he called “Algeria’s balanced positions”.

Previously, President Bouteflika condemned the failed coup in Turkey, in a telegram that he addressed to the President Erdogan which stated: “My country condemns this coup attempt, which came to disturb the existing constitutional order and that aimed to disturb peace and stability in your large country, and in the region and in the world as well”, adding: “I was happy to receive the news of solving the security crisis that befell your brotherly country brotherly, and that was thanks to recruiting the living strength that supported you “, and he gave by the way his condolences to the Turkish people after the victims who died during the coup.
